About Lara Hontzias
A passionate Interior Design firm located in Calgary, creating contemporary, attractive, innovative, yet practical and personalized, spaces for families and their homes.
Born and educated in Calgary, Lara Hontzias graduated from Mount Royal College with a Bachelor of Applied Interior Design. Previously, Lara worked for several years in the fields of Food and Beverage and Front-end Management, utilizing her Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management from SAIT.
Lara began her career in the field of corporate design at a large and reputable firm in Calgary, establishing a foundation in business design and client communication. In 2009, she decided to pursue her ambition and passion for residential design and launch her own firm. Since that time, she has continued to build on her experience and knowledge to create attractive, innovative, yet practical and personalized, spaces for families.
Frequently attending conferences and events related to her field, Lara keeps abreast of recent developments and trends. She is a member of the Interior Designers of Alberta where she is required to follow a code of professional ethics and educational requirements.
With her background in the Fine Arts and classical violin, Lara has had many opportunities to travel. An active community volunteer, Lara has functioned as team manager and volunteer coordinator for her children’s sports teams and schools, as well as assisting with the family business, Red Rock Bar and Grill. To keep fit, she regularly bikes the trails of Calgary and trains for half marathons in Calgary, Red Deer and Canmore. Lara Hontzias knows that great design flows from the inside out. She knows how to manage large-scale projects, and applies her technical and contract management expertise at any phase of a home design challenge.
